2023-24 SO Basketball Skills registration

SPECIAL OLYMPICS BASKETBALL SKILLS

Athletes ages 8 and up to compete in skills including: dribbling, shooting, and passing.

Zoom meeting: Monday, September 25th at 7pm. Even if you are only interested in more information, I encourage you to attend. The link for the meeting is in the email I sent out to everyone.

The roster will be limited to 24 Athletes on a first come first served basis. Basketball Skills athletes who competed in Regional 2023 are guaranteed their spot for the new season.

Practice: Mondays, at either Shabbona School on School St. 6-7pm or Saratoga School on Rt 47/Division St. 6:30-7:30pm starting October 30th. A schedule of where we'll be each week is attached to the email. Athletes are responsible for their own transportation to practices. SC Buses may be used for competition. All participants must wear comfortable athletic attire or sweatpants with gym shoes. NO JEANS/JEAN SHORTS, BOOTS, SCANDALS, ETC. ARE ALLOWED AT PRACTICE OR COMPETITIONS. NO JEWELRY EITHER. Medical bracelets are always allowed.

Cost: $20 for the entire season.

Medicals and Class A: Must be valid through 1/21/2024. Those who need a new Medical must turn it in to Tina by November 6th. Class A Registrations must also be completed by 11/6. Tina can look it up if you don't know when your Medical or Class A expires.

Competitions: *These dates are a guess until I get next year's calendar later this month.

Regional: Sunday, January 21st, 2024 in Evergreen Park.

State: March 8th-10th, 2024

To register: Go to Specialconnections.org under events and you can pay online, call Tina at 815-230-1877, or respond to the email. After registering, I will contact you about what forms I'll need from you. REGISTRATION CLOSES SEPTEMBER 29TH! Forms and payment are due by October 16th. You cannot practice until forms are turned in.
