About the event
SPECIAL OLYMPICS SWIMMING
General: Athletes ages 8 and up to compete in swimming. *This is a competitive team and not swim lessons. Athletes should be able to swim the length of the pool, 25 meters. Swim athletes who want to learn a new stroke are welcome to register. Athletes on our team can compete in: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly.
Roster: Limited to 16 athletes. If we reach 16, then a waiting list will be created. Swimming athletes who competed in Swim Regional 2026 are guaranteed their spot for the new season if they choose to come back. New to this sport athletes are on a first come, first served basis.
Practice: Twice a week on Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:15-8:15 through Regional at Morris YMCA. The first practice is November 3rd. After Regional, practice goes down to once a week, on Thursdays only, 7:15-8:15. *Athletes cannot wear any jewelry, nor use any kind of flotation devices such as armbands, etc.
