Movie Under the Stars

The Movie Under the Stars event includes dinner (hot dog, chips, fruit, and drinks) and a movie with popcorn and snacks! The Echeverria Family are our gracious hosts and all Special Connections families, Board and Volunteers are welcome to join us for this fun evening! We ask that you make a reservation so we have a head count for the food and goodies!

Bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on. An accessible port-a-john will be on site. Parking is advised at the grade school parking lot across the street and it is a short walk to the back yard along the right side of the Echeverria home. Music, food and drinks will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk. Bug spray is recommended.

This year we will be taking a Special Connections bus for participants who need a ride. Space on the bus is limited to 12 on a first-come reservation basis. Special Connections registered participants who want to ride the bus must CALL or TEXT Amy at 815-715-7635 to reserve a seat.  We will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Morris Dermatology parking lot and return around 10:00 p.m.  Parents/Guardians will be notified of the exact (ish) time that evening.

NOTE: We will be taking the only bus we have that is working, which is NOT wheelchair accessible. (We hope the bus with a lift will be repaired in the near future!)

Registered guests will have a vote via email to select the movie! Watch your email the week prior to August 16 to vote on your choice!

This event will be rescheduled if the weather doesn't cooperate!
